Building System Optimization Specialist / R97230 & R97231
University of Arkansas Little Rock invites applicants for the two (2) available positions of Building System Optimization Specialist (R97230 & R97231). The Building System Optimization Specialists are responsible for the campus-wide Energy Management Control System and in conjunction with the System Operator and department supervisors for uncovering opportunities to improve system efficiency and increase occupant satisfaction. This position will work closely with the campus HVAC and electrical technicians and is responsible for installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of building electrical, electronic, and electromechanical energy management system components.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Energy Management and is responsible for continued development and management of the University’s strategic energy plan, with a focus on campus energy usage including cost and sustainability. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Required Education and/or Experience: Bachelor degree and experience operating, maintaining and repairing building energy management systems, HVAC systems, IT systems or process controls. In lieu of bachelor degree, a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing building energy management systems may be accepted.
Preferred Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or a related computer science field; Experience working in an institutional, college or university environment; Possess a current boiler operator or electrical certificate; Experience integrating multiple control systems into a single enterprise level system; supervisory experience.
